Our story
Niigata is a brand of T&T Foodstuff Trading Sdn Bhd. The company started out as a seafood product specialist in 2002 through the Hai Bao Bei brand. Today, we are the ASEAN sole distributor of Halal seafood products by Maruha Nichiro, Japan’s largest seafood company. Come share our love for umami harvested from the sea and our vision for Malaysians to enjoy life full of flavour!
Purpose
Our secret is premium Japanese anchovy extracts. Fresh Japanese anchovies are mixed with salt and slowly fermented to achieve the right concentrations of umami - 365 days for our fish sauce and 3 years for the fish extract base blended into most of our seasoning powders. Because these fish extracts are mellowed with time instead of water, Niigata fish sauce is naturally darker and our seasonings are full-bodied without fishiness.
Production takes place in a main overseas processing plant of Maruha Nichiro. In addition to strict compliance with international quality, hygiene and safety standards, the manufacturer holds Shandong Halal Certification (SHC) recognized by JAKIM.
